Brief
Business Concept Generation
As part of a related project aimed to guide entrepreneurs through the process of developing a working business plan, I chose to develop a business concept for an EdTech idea, which I code-named "Snacktopia". Snacktopia is an AI-powered educational platform that transforms any lesson into engaging microlearning games while rewarding student achievement with healthy snacks.
PART 01
Business Development
Using a variety of business structure templates, I used Notion's built-in generative AI functionality to rapidly flesh out the various aspects, especially areas that I wasn't as familiar with.
PART 02
Competitive Analysis
The main competitors in the game-based learning space include Kahoot!, Quizlet, Nearpod, and Gimkit, which all provide interactive quiz and learning platforms but lack a tangible reward system that promotes healthy habits. While these platforms offer basic gamification through points and leaderboards, they miss the opportunity to connect digital achievement with physical wellness rewards, and none offer AI-powered lesson conversion capabilities that could significantly reduce teacher workload.
PART 03
Site Map
In collaboration with various LLMs, I developed a site map outlining the various pages and sections for pages serving teachers, districts, and students including sales, support, and the application itself.
PART 04
Branding Development
I knew the brand needed to be fun, playful, and approachable and appeal both to students and adults, while conveying a positive healthy message. So, I gathered hundreds of images on Pinterest that I thought matched the general style.
PART 05
Asset Gathering
Inspired by flat, minimalist, paper-cutout-style illustrations, I developed a series of characters and illustrations in Figma representing anthropomorphized snack mascots and gathered similarly-styled graphic assets to use the the site mockup.
PART 06
Character Design
To streamline the process of testing various facial expressions, I broke the characters up into components and variants in Figma.
PART 07
Sales Page Mockup
Using Figma, I brought the pieces together to create an introductory sales page along with some interior pages for the game setup on the teacher's end and the students' end.
